I'm glancing at the Padres game every once in awhile and they have this graphic comparing second baseman Mark Loretta's batting average to that of other Padres in the past.
What's funny every time they do something like this is the headline and the footnote on the graphic.
The headline reads something to the effect of "Highest averages in Padres History."
The footnote then reads "For all players not named Tony Gwynn."
It's understandable, because then practically no one else, let alone Loretta, would show up on the list which only has room for 5 or so names.
Do other ballclubs do this with the graphics on their telecasts? Do the Atlanta Braves have a list of "Most home runs in a season" and then put a note at the bottom "For all players not named Hank Aaron"?
Just something to think about.
