Stop saying that!

Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) is retiring at the end of the current Congress because he’s not particularly interested in following in the footsteps of Tom Daschle. But he is still dutifully playing out his time and continues to shovel economic alchemy that has been all but discredited, this time on “Fox News Sunday.”

SEN. KENT CONRAD, D-N.D.: Back up and think what the country needs. What the country needs right now is additional lift for the economy. We still have one in every six Americans is either unemployed or underemployed, and when you asked the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, as I did, what's the biggest bang for the buck in terms of giving the lift for the economy? They said extending unemployment insurance is number one. And very high on the list is a payroll tax cut.

Extending unemployment insurance? I’m not going to explain why that is Bolshevik Storytelling yet again, but I guess if that’s all you got, then that’s what you stick with.

And it’s not like the mainstream media isn’t there to help. Follow the link to check out how the media has slanted exactly the same jobs report news when a Republican was in charge and now that their preferred politician Obama is in charge. The examples detailed reminded me of some of Bob Kohn’s charges against The New York Times more than eight years ago. At least with all the media upheaval in recent years, some things have stayed constant.
