The Broken California GOP

My weekend column for the San Luis Obispo Tribune can be found here and if features a discussion with San Luis Obispo County Republican chairman Al Fonzi on the broken California GOP and the realization that having Donald Trump at the top of the ticket will do nothing to help heal it.

Fonzi is one of those Republicans who see a potential Hillary Clinton presidency as a future so oppressive and horrific that we're better off voting for the devil we don't know (Trump) over the one we do.

Fonzi isn't sure Trump won't abandon the positions he took that won him the GOP nomination, but there's a chance he might. Whereas, Clinton is a sure bad thing.

In the end, I once again come out for the Sweet Meteor of Death's candidacy.
